Privacy Policy
Last updated October 5, 2026
This policy explains what information Stewardship Compute LLC (“we,” “us”) collects through stewardshipcomputellc.com, how we use it, who helps us handle it, and the choices you have. A separate product that publishes its own privacy notice is governed by that notice.
The short version
- We collect what you choose to send us, plus the basic technical data any website receives.
- We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising.
- This site runs no advertising trackers and no analytics cookies.
- You can ask us to show you, correct, or delete your information at any time.
Information you give us
- Contact form: your name, email address, and message.
- Newsletter: your email address.
- Sponsorship interest form: organization, contact name, email, sponsorship type, estimated contribution or equipment, and your message.
- Checkout intake: work email, organization name, and organization type.
- Member account: your email address and password. Passwords are stored by our authentication provider in hashed form; we never see them.
- The Steward’s Trial: the rulings you choose and any ruling you write, the scenario, and the verdict, saved to your member account.
- The Steward Forum: the display name you choose and the posts, replies, and flags you submit. Posts and display names are public; flags are not. If you post, we email you when someone replies; you can turn that off in the Member Hub.
- Emails you send us and anything you include in them.
Payments
Payments, memberships, and contributions are processed by Stripe. Stripe collects your card or bank details directly; we never receive your full card number. We receive what we need to run your purchase: your name, email address, billing details, the payment amount and status, and the last four digits and brand of your card.
Information collected automatically
- Server logs. Our hosting provider records standard request data such as IP address, browser type, the page requested, and the time.
- Security check at sign-in. Cloudflare Turnstile checks that a sign-in attempt comes from a person, using browser and device signals.
- Sign-in session. When you sign in as a member, your browser stores a session token so you stay signed in. It is removed when you sign out.
We do not use advertising cookies, analytics cookies, or cross-site tracking. Embedded content from other companies may set its own cookies (see below).
How we use information
- To answer your messages and follow up on requests you send us.
- To provide memberships, products, and member features, and to process payments.
- To send the newsletter, only if you subscribed. Every issue has an unsubscribe link.
- To run the Steward’s Trial and show you a verdict on your ruling.
- To keep the site secure and prevent abuse.
- To meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations.
Who helps us handle it
We share information only with service providers that help us run the site, and only for that purpose:
- Netlify hosts the website.
- Supabase stores form submissions, newsletter subscriptions, and member accounts.
- Stripe processes payments.
- Cloudflare runs the Turnstile security check at sign-in.
- Resend delivers the newsletter.
- Google Workspace hosts our email.
- jsDelivr delivers a software library the site loads, and receives standard request data when it does.
- OpenRouter also passes Steward Forum posts and display names to an AI model provider for automated moderation, using only providers that do not retain or train on them.
- OpenRouter passes a ruling you write in the Steward’s Trial, together with the scenario, to an AI model provider, which returns the verdict. Please do not put personal or confidential information in a ruling.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a merger or transfer of the business, subject to this policy.
Embedded content and other sites
Some pages include content from other companies: the GoFundMe fundraiser widget, the Zoom scheduler, and, when we are live, YouTube or Twitch video. When you use that content, those companies may collect information and set cookies under their own privacy policies. Links to our social media pages and other websites are governed by those sites’ policies.
How long we keep it
We keep information only as long as we need it for the purposes above. For example, we keep newsletter subscriptions until you unsubscribe, account data while your account is active, and payment records for as long as tax and accounting rules require. After that we delete it or remove anything that identifies you.
Your choices and rights
- Newsletter: use the unsubscribe link in any issue, or email us.
- Access, correction, deletion: email support@stewardshipcomputellc.com and we will respond within 45 days. We may need to confirm it is you.
- Deleting your data: email support@stewardshipcomputellc.com with the subject “Delete my data” from the address you used with us. We will delete your account and the information tied to it, except records we must keep by law, and confirm by email.
Because we do not sell or share personal information for advertising, there is nothing to opt out of. We treat a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser as that opt-out anyway.
Do Not Track
This site does not track you across other websites, so it treats every visit the same way whether or not your browser sends a Do Not Track signal.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. School and youth programs are arranged through educators and parents, not through this site. If you believe a child has sent us information, email us and we will delete it.
Security
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, and a sign-in security check to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Where information is processed
We are based in the United States, and our providers process information in the United States.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we will also post a notice on the site or email members.
